Original signed acrylic painting on framed Gesso canvas panel 18"X14" 46X36cm. Historic surviving boatsheds on Anglesea River, Great Ocean Road, Victoria Australia. Previously known as Swampy Creek in 1860s, sporting parties from Melbourne travelled by horseback and mail coach on unformed tracks, through dense forests to enjoy river and seaside location. Boats were stored in the rafters of the boatsheds until visitors arrived to enjoy parties while watching boat racing on the river. Unlike the stark background tree, these timber boatsheds survived the devastating 1983 bushfires.
